The Alexander Technique is a skill for self-development, teaching you to change long-standing habits that cause unnecessary tension in everything you do.

In the Alexander Technique we believe that the way we perform our everyday activities greatly affects our health and wellbeing. As little children we show perfect co-ordination through movement full of lightness and grace. Over the course of our lives, however, we gradually develop many habits which interfere with that natural co-ordination. This contributes to pain, discomfort, stiffness, poor posture and stress. In time, the habits become our second nature and we do not notice how they harm ourselves because they feel normal.

During Alexander Technique lessons we will explore the ways of overcoming harmful habits in order to restore the natural freedom in movement. You will experience that instead of trying harder to achieve something (e.g. good posture), you can employ the forgotten powers which have always been present in you. They can be woken up with the aid of the Alexander Technique.

Amongst others, Alexander Technique is chosen by people struggling with pain and discomfort, sports people to reduce injury and improve performance, musicians, actors and other people involved with arts to reduce injury and overcome difficulties and discomfort associated with their activities.
