An introduction to Mindfulness

The name can be a little misleading though. It is not something that is understood by thinking, by theorising, rather it has to be experienced. Mindfulness, as a state of awareness, is something you do and the way to get there can be developed and practiced.

The benefits of practising mindfulness, even for just a short time, are manifold. More and more research is being undertaken, continuing to demonstrate what a difference it can make to your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Businesses and organisations of all kinds (from Goldman Sachs to the Houses of Parliament) are recognising the potential for improving health, productivity and satisfaction that comes with the ongoing practice of mindfulness.
